Freakishly Similar...

So Grandma Christy sent some photos from Seth's baby days and it is eerily similar to JJ in many of the photos... See Below

Wowee, it's been a long time!

We've been a lot of places this summer and had a lot of fun. There hasn't been much extra time to post, so here is a big update on all our adventures at once!

Ages and Stages: 5 months old. The baby enjoying his stuffed lion, steering a sailboat, and our family enjoying a day of sailing together.

Ages and Stages: 5 months. Seth's brother Luke and his wife Elizabeth married in July. JJ slept through the wedding, and then was just the best baby for the rest of the day. Here's the happy couple, JJ with Grandpa Jim, the whole family on the dock, and our little family.

Ages and stages: 5 months old. Sitting up on own, which means he can sit up in the high chair and eat yummy rice cereal. Hanging out with daddy (who is sometimes just a little bit scary about the Sounders). "Oh, daddy's okay after all, let's get these socks off already."

Ages and Stages: 5 1/2 months. First Sounders Game!!! On a spur of the moment decision, we went to a Sounders game one evening. Here's JJ with daddy, wearing earplugs, with mommy, finally enjoying the game, then crashed out at the end of the night. For those of you thinking of taking your 5-6 month old to a loud sporting event, we learned a few things: 1) They supplied earplugs for us. 2) There is a family section, which was quite nice. 3) When everyone yells "GOAL!" the baby is scared and cries. Fortunately there weren't very many goals... says the mommy.

Ages and stages: 5 1/2 to 6 months old. We traveled to Walla Walla with Seth's family (JJ in papasan chair and "sunbathing" with sunglasses for like 5 minutes). He got his first tooth on the trip. Also, Josiah with Poppa Dave and JJ getting ready for dinner during our first trip to the beach.

We had plenty of fun adventures this summer! More fun to follow.

Fascinating Feet

Okay, so first off, I have to start with my most favorite picture of my little jumper... passed out in the jumparoo. Funnier yet, when I tried to pull him out to put him in his crib, he looked up at me, grinned and started jumping again. I put him in the crib anyway.
Around the Caldwell house lately, there has been a preoccupation with little feet. They're fun to touch and hold (and tickle). The next few photos are from our recent trip to Arizona, where we took Josiah on his first swim.

Despite the shocked expression on his face, he really did enjoy it. The first swim was quite fun to watch him splash and giggle and kick.

We've been pretty busy around here lately, with a 4 1/2 month old, me back at work and Seth working part-time. We are managing to have quite a bit of fun this summer though. I tried to include more pictures this time since I haven't been as good lately at posting regularly. As you can see, the little toesies are even just right for putting into the mouth!

In Arizona I had a conference for work, and while I got my CE credits, Seth and Josiah went from nap-time to pool-time to soccer-time (world cup time) seamlessly. I had a little time for fun in the sun too. And we went out to dinner a couple nights also.

The sunshine and heat took a little getting used to (since our area has had few days of warm sunshine up until now). We took many precautions, and the ritual of protecting the fair skin Josiah has inherited from me began. I got to give him a new stylish hair-do each time! Here, our little movie star auditions for a role in Powder after applying the 50 spf!

The first plane ride went well, even though I was awfully nervous about it. Seth did great. And so did Josiah.

Below, a few snapshots from around home. Seth and I went out for dinner on my birthday, we celebrated Luke (Seth's brother) and Liz's graduation from the UW and Josiah chills out.

Thanks for catching up! More updates to come!
